Stefan Schreiber, MD, is Professor of Medicine and Gastroenterology at the Christian-Albrechts-University in Germany. Dr. Schreiber is responsible for designing, organizing, and conducting phase IB-III clinical trials of novel drugs for inflammatory bowel disease and the functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. His clinical research interests are in tuberculosis and gastrointestinal cancer. He also leads a research institute that focuses on the genetics of complex disease and inflammatory pathophysiology. Dr. Schreiber is the scientific speaker of the German National Genome Research Network and a consultant for various pharmaceutical companies' clinical development programs for gastrointestinal and pulmonary diseases.
