Dr. Soumitra Das was most recently (08/07) a Senior Strategy Manager at Motorola where he developed front-end planning to commercialize innovations and incubated new growth platforms for mobile devices business. Dr. Das developed business cases for "Big Bet" handsets for Motorola's 2008 and 2009 portfolio. He is now CEO of Varati Consulting LLC, where he is currently on engagement with AT&T. Dr. Das has 15+ years of experience in business strategy, innovations, intellectual property, strategic alliance and standards in telecommunications and has held strategic and R&D management roles in Lucent Technologies, and AT&T. He has published several research papers and spoken in many academic and industry conferences and holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University.
