Rudy Nuijts, MD, PhD, is the Director of the Cornea Clinic and Academic Center for Refractive Surgery in Maastricht, Netherlands. Dr. Nuijts has expertise in anterior segment surgery including corneal lamellar transplant surgery, cataract surgery and refractive surgery. He has used the IntraLase femtosecond laser for performing shaped corneal transplantation including top-hat keratoplasty and endothelial keratoplasty. Dr. Nuijts research interests are in the field of corneal disease and surgery and patient satisfaction after cataract and refractive surgery. He is treasurer of the Dutch Corneal Society, Chairman of the Netherlands Intraocular Implant Society (NIOIC), board member of the Netherlands Transplantation Society (NTS) and board member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS).
