Robert Mochwart

Robert Mochwart, was until March 2008, the Chief Risk and Credit Officer for Popular Financial Holdings, a wholly owned subsidiary of the $44 billion financial holding company. Popular is a diversified financial services provider with the operations in Puerto Rico, the Unites States, the Caribbean, and Latin America. He was responsible for all aspects of credit, operational and strategic risk for the bank including their E-Loan subsidiary. Mr. Mochwart was also responsible for facilitating and monitoring company-wide credit policies for adherence, and monthly reporting of the performance of the $15 billion portfolio and its segments. He also had oversight of all delivery channels including, consumer (mortgage, HE, and other consumer products) and commercial credit products, liability products as well as other personal financial services from a credit, operational, strategic and compliance perspective. Prior to joining Popular in 2005, Mr. Mochwart founded a consulting company working globally with top tier banks and financial institutions in risk management and business consulting. Earlier, he was the Chief Risk Officer and Chief Credit Officer for GMAC Bank and responsible for all aspects of credit, risk and compliance for the $295 billion banking institution. Prior to GMAC, Mr. Mochwart was the VP of Mortgage and Consumer Lending for ING Bank; advised Lehman Brothers Bank as an independent consultant, and worked in mortgage lending for Cityscape and Chemical Bank.
