Robert E. Barnett is Partner at Barnett Sivon & Natter in Washington, DC, where he specializes in representing financial institutions before the U.S. Congress and federal regulatory agencies. He is a former Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Prior to his service at the FDIC, he practiced first as a litigator with Sullivan & Cromwell in New York City, and then as Counsel to the Governor of Nebraska before heading the Nebraska Constitution Revision Commission. A graduate of Harvard University Law School, Mr. Barnett is the author of several books on the responsibilities and liabilities of directors of commercial banks, bank holding companies, and savings institutions. Mr. Barnett is a founding member of the “Bank Discussion Group,” an informal forum for representatives of the nation’s largest financial institutions. (This is me - Update Profile)
