Richard Liebeskind is Partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP in Washington, DC. He has represented and advised corporations in civil and criminal antitrust matters, including price fixing, business conduct, monopolization, mergers and regulatory matters. He has handled antitrust review of mergers before the FTC, DOJ and State Attorneys General in a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, communications, industrial equipment, petroleum, consumer goods, retail and distribution, advanced technology, banking and financial services. He has represented the government and private clients in antitrust cases in district court involving antitrust challenges to mergers and conduct. Mr. Liebeskind served as an attorney and manager at both the FTC and DOJ. He was Assistant Director of the Bureau of Competition at the FTC, responsible for mergers in chemicals, plastics, computers, and other industries, and led investigations of major oil mergers.
