Prakash Gupta is Vice President of CDO and Structured Credit group at Bank of New York Mellon, a Middle-Market Investment Bank in New York, where he is working since March 2008. Prior to this, he was the Principal of PG Schaum, a financial services consulting firm. Before starting his own practice in June 2007, he was an Associate Director of Credit and Structured Products at Fitch Ratings, where he was responsible for rating and structuring cash and synthetic CDO/CLN, CLO, CMBS CDOs, repack transactions by applying various quantitative models to deals as described in OM and indenture. Mr. Gupta reviewed documents to verify conformance to covenants, rating criteria and legal practices. He developed quantitative models to help rate new structures like the SIV, Covered Bonds, CDPC and was responsible for guiding bank structures regarding viability of new CDO structure pertaining to expected ratings and pricing with respect to new asset classes, obligors, shadow ratings and default rate (This is me - Update Profile)

Leveraged loan will cause more losses in case CLO market seizes further. Banks as CDS counterparty will have to recognize losses when swap writer face default. Funding for loans will be much more scarce.
