Philip Weiser

Philip J. Weiser is a Professor of Law and Telecommunications at the University of Colorado. Prior to his appointment, Prof. Weiser served as Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Antitrust Division at the US Department of Justice (DOJ), advising him primarily on telecommunications matters, merger policy, regulatory proceedings, and antitrust investigations. Before his appointment at the DOJ, he served as a law clerk to Justices Byron R. White and Ruth Bader Ginsburg at the United States Supreme Court and to Judge David Ebel at the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Professor Weiser has authored numerous articles on telecommunication policy, has consulted with both state governments and companies, testified before both houses of Congress, and is the co-author of “Digital Crossroads: American Telecommunications Policy in the Internet Age,” and “Telecommunications Law and Policy.” Professor Weiser received his JD from NYU and his BA from Swarthmore College.
