Peter Rieckmann, MD, FRCPC, is a Professor of Neurology and MS Research Chair at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He has established the Western Canadian MS Research and Training Center at UBC, Vancouver and is member of the EndMS steering committee (Canadian MS society). He has served as the Vice President of the German Multiple Sclerosis Society and Coordinator of the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Consensus Group. Dr. Rieckmann also holds positions on the European Committee for Trials and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS), the medical advisory board of the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation, and the steering committees and advisory boards of various international multiple sclerosis trials. He has expertise in the pathophysiology and treatment of neuroimmunological disorders, multiple sclerosis, and molecular and functional aspects of blood-brain barrier disturbances.
