Pedro Gascon, MD, PhD

Pedro Gascon, MD, PhD, is the Director of Medical Oncology and Scientific Coordinator of the Hematology-Oncology Department at Hospital Clinic Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Gascon is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology, and his main clinical interests include colorectal cancer, malignant melanoma and supportive care (anemia, hematopoietic growth factors, and bisphosphonates). His main research interests are in aplastic anemia, breast and colorectal cancer, and mechanisms of bone metastasis. Dr. Gascon has published over 140 papers in journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Science, Blood, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Journal of Clinical Oncology, Journal of Immunology, and Cancer Research. He is a member of the Alfa-Omega-Alfa Honor Society and, of many professional organizations and societies.
