Mr. Paul Dowd

Council Member Biography

Paul Dowd is the Principal of PJ Dowd and Associates, providing consulting services to the mining industry. Mr. Dowd has more than 40 years of experience in developing business and managing mining operations in Australia, USA, Africa, Europe, Asia, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia. He was previously VP of Newmont Australian Operations and Managing Director of Newmont Australia. Mr. Dowd has also held executive positions with inter alia Normandy Mining, responsible for Normandy’s global mining interests. He serves on several mining industry bodies and advisory councils such as the CSIRO, Sustainable Minerals Institute at the University of Queensland. Mr. Dowd is also Chairman Adelaide Resources a Non-executive Director for Regis Resources, and Buka Gold and Advisory Board Member of Parsons Brinkerhoff Australia. Additionally, he is the Chairman of the Board of SA Resources & Engineering Skills Alliance as well as Chairman of the Resources Sector Infrastructure Council of South Australia.
