Patrick Hanly is a Group Commercial Director at Harvey Nichols since 1987, and is responsible for all retail functions in the UK and internationally. He engages in buying and merchandise strategy, formulating policies to drive the business and maintain Harvey Nichols’ unique position. He played a key role in the transformation of Harvey Nichols from an underperforming department store to a profitable, aspirational and highly focused fashion group with a flagship Knightsbridge store with the highest sales/sq ft of any large UK retailer. He is responsible for developing stores in emerging markets and travels to countries such as Brazil, Russia and India plus Asia and the Middle East. He started his career with Liberty of London and held various senior positions in buying/merchandising within the Debenhams Group + at the Edgar Store Group, S.Africa before joining Arcadia Group as merchandise director.
