Moushumi Chopra is a Partner in the Delhi office of Fox Mandal Little. She has over 12 years of experience in corporate commercial and legal consultancy. She started her professional career in 1994 and has been with Fox Mandal since 2001 specializing in areas of Restructuring, Securitisation, Mergers and Acquisitions, Mining, Infrastructure, Project Finance, Foreign Investment and other Commercial Laws. Some of the prominent projects/clients handled/being handled include: Advised Posco Korea, a Korean steel major on various issues relating to their investment of USD 12 billion in India (India’s largest foreign direct investment till date) including entry strategies, mining laws, port issues, setting up of a steel plant, negotiations and signing of memorandum of understanding with the concerned State Government; Advised Novelis, a Canadian major on its proposed acquisition by Hindalco, an Indian aluminium major for USD 6 billion (India’s second largest overseas acquisition till date); Adivising numerous international majors in mining laws/ regulations and land acquisition.
