Michael Davidson, MD, FACC, is the Executive Medical Director at Radiant Research Inc. and Director of Preventive Cardiology and Atherosclerosis Research and Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago. In addition, he is Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of the Chicago Center for Clinical Research, currently part of Radiant Research. Most recently he was Professor at the Department of Medicine and Director of the Preventive Cardiology Center at Rush University Medical Center, where he directed the multiple risk factor reduction lipid clinics. Dr. Davidson’s research interests include statins, novel lipid lowering drugs, and non-pharmacological risk factor reduction. As an Author and Lecturer on lipid disorders, nutrition, and atherosclerosis, Dr. Davidson has coordinated over 700 clinical trials in areas of preventive cardiology and has published over 150 articles in medical journals, including the Journal of the American Medical Association, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, and Atherosclerosis. Dr. Davidson serves as President of the Midwest Lipid Association and is Board Member of the National Lipid Association. (This is me - Update Profile)

They appear to be less concerned about the CV safety of Actos but both drugs are associated with an increase risk of heart failure.
