Michael Cherry has designed and implemented many computer-based systems that are used by a large percentage the world’s population. Some of his clients have included JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, Sony, NCR and IBM. He is often quoted in the press including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Chicago Tribune and many others. The US Department of Justice references several of his biometric articles on their NCJRS web site. His firm, Cherry Biometrics Inc. is heavily involved in developing infrastructures that are needed to support biometrics; Cherry Biometrics also integrates biometric solutions within the law enforcement and corporate communities. Michael has expert knowledge in payment, Homeland, TWICS and FBI AFIS Certified systems including those made by Cogent, L-1, AuthenTec, Sagem and many other vendors. He votes on the biometric standards used by law enforcement worldwide. He is a biometric expert who has addressed the Biometric Committee of the National Academy of Sciences. Low cost fingerprint matching solutions may often be inappropriately cutting into the sales of the higher end more accurate solutions made by COGT, ID, NEC etc. In the end the client is the big loser.
If hackers could get into the banking system they could steal billions and possibly even trillions of dollars. They can’t, and they have been trying for at least twenty years. No virus scanner is needed when running the very rigid banking applications we built years ago using large IBM mainframe computers....
