Melvyn James, OBE MSc BSc CEng

Melvyn James is Director of Mel James Limited; a UK based firm providing consulting services in the aerospace and defense industry. Mr. James provides consultancy services in aerospace and general defense maintenance, and logistics and safety management. He has more than 36 years of experience in designing and maintaining combat, transport and civil aircraft, and helicopters including those of NATO and former Warsaw Pact inventories. Mr. James also has experience in managing research and development activities for airframes and systems, engines, avionics, support equipment, air launched weapons, and conducting acquisition and logistics studies into a wide range of air, land, and sea-based defense systems. He holds a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Glasgow University, an MS in Aircraft Design from Cranfield University, is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a professional chartered engineer assessor under the rules of the UK Engineering Council.
