Council Member Biography

Makito GOTO, MBA, MD, is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Comil Group in Tokyo Japan, where he has been consulting with both life and non-life insurers, bankers, hospital directors, clinic directors and security companies. Comil Group is the first total service professional firm in the Japanese life insurance industry, which supports 30 contracted insurance companies regarding life insurance specific operations such as medical examinations, medical underwriting, inspection, management of contracted medical doctors, product development, and training for risk selection; it also includes Health Online, which performs medical examination services. Previously, Mr. Goto was the General Manager at General Reinsurance Corporation (Gen Re) in Tokyo. At this company, he oversaw as the first GM in Japan, and developed reinsurance in Japan with Japanese insurers and foreign insurers. Prior to his work at Gen Re, he was the Medical Director at Nippon Life Insurance Company.
