Droid launch draws tech-savvy crowd to Verizon stores | www.computerworld.com
According to estimates, Verizon is to have sold through roughly half their 200K inventory of Droids this past weekend. I believe that Google app users who do light browsing, photos, and heavy media play will probably be very happy with either Droid. Both displays are very good quality for video. I predict that Verizon will continue to do well with their initial line-up of Droids. I don't think anyone envisioned either of these Droids as being iPhone killers but they have been respectable sellers coming out of the gate.

Has AT&T Bailed on Motorola’s Android Phones? | digitaldaily.allthingsd.com
Android phones are off-strategy for AT&T. The other carriers need them to combat iPhone. As long as AT&T has exclusivity on that iPhone, that's where the focus is. And, why not?
Smartphone Market Summary & Predictions

Apple impresses as smartphone sales grow | www.infoworld.com
While overall sales of mobile phones declined during 1H09, sales of Smartphones increased 27% during 2Q09. This increase is expected to continue through the remainder of 2009 and into 2010. Within the past year, the astounding growth in the Smartphone area has come from Apple's iPhone. In 2Q08, iPhone held only a 2.8% share of the Smartphone market. In 2Q09, Apple held 13.8%*.
