Lyle Berkowitz, MD

Lyle Berkowitz, MD, is an Internal Medicine Physician at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Illinois. He also serves as the Medical Director of Clinical Information Systems for the largest primary care group in Chicago, helping to oversee their electronic medical record system and other IT projects. In addition, Dr. Berkowitz is the President of Back 9 Healthcare Consulting, where he helps a large variety of clients use information technologies and strategies to improve quality and efficiency at their organizations. His past experience includes working as the Medical Director for two publicly traded companies (an EMR vendor and a global IT consulting firm). Dr. Berkowitz regularly writes and speaks on clinical informatics topics. He is a contributing author to the American College of Physicians' book "Electronic Medical Records", serves on the editorial board for Healthcare Informatics magazine, and is on the advisory board for the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems.
