Lawrence Tena, MD, is an Attending Physician in the Department of Radiation Oncology at St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center in New York. He is also an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the New York Medical College and an Associate Adjunct at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Tena is a board certified Radiation Oncologist with specialty in brain, head and neck, lung, gynecological, gastrointestinal, and prostate cancers as well as brachytherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery. His research interests include prostate cancer, head and neck cancer, and choroidal melanoma of the eye, and PET-CT scanning. Dr. Tena has been published in numerous medical journals, including British Journal of Ophthalmology, International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics, and American Journal of Ophthalmology. He has lectured nationally and internationally and serves on the speaker's bureau for Cytogen, Inc. for the product Quadramet (Samarium) and for MedImmune, Inc. on Ethyol (Amifostine). Dr. Tena has also worked as an Engineer for Varian, Inc. and Philips Medical Systems. He is a member of several professional organizations including American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American College of Radiation Oncology, American Medical Association, and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
