Larry Mitchell

Larry Mitchell is the Chief Executive Officer of the American Corn Growers Association in Washington, DC. Previously, Mr. Mitchell served as Deputy Administrator for Farm Programs of the Farm Service Agency of The United States Department of Agriculture and Deputy Vice President at Commodity Credit Corporation. He was responsible for converting farm program legislation into working policies and procedures regulating the delivery of FSA's conservation and commodity programs. He was also responsible for the the Conservation Reserve Program, production flexibility contracts, commodity and livestock disaster programs, marketing assistance loan programs, and the tobacco and peanut programs. He also held the positions of Director of FSA's Legislative Liaison and Public Affairs Staff, overseeing the Agency relations with the Congress and the public; and the Vice President of Government Relations for the National Farmers Union in Washington, where he represented NFU on important policy issues in Congress. Mr. Mitchell has also worked as an independent consultant and writer on American farm issues, Director of Federal and State Relation for the American Agriculture Movement, and Editor of the American Agriculture Movement Reporter.
