Prior, he was in the retail industry for 27 years with the last 10 years in officer level merchandising roles. Prior, he has worked with Dollar General, where he was responsible for sourcing and purchasing for Softlines and Home. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer at Shopko Stores, where he was responsible for buying, planning, and replenishment, trend and product development, presentation, and marketing. Prior, he worked for Target for 12 years as Vice President and Merchandise Manager of Men's and with Federated-Macys Department Stores, where he held various buying and merchandising positions for nine years.
