Joe Cappy had 47 years of experience in the automotive industry before retiring as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group in December, 2003. Mr. Cappy was President & CEO of American Motors when Chrysler Corporation purchased the company from Renault and the Public in 1987. As Vice President at Chrysler, he was involved with the divestiture of six non-core divisions, three aerospace/defense divisions and three car rental companies. Prior to his time at AMC, he spent the first 26 years of his career as a finance, sales and marketing executive at Ford Motor Company. He is now involved in a number of non-profit activities. He is Chairman of The Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF), which has assets in excess of $3 Billion, ranking TCF number one in the Nation. (This is me - Update Profile)
