Joseph Bass, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Neurobiology at Northwestern University in Illinois (tenure active September 2009, Division of Endocrinology and Molecular Medicine). He was previously the Division Head of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare from December 1999 through June 2009. Dr. Bass directs a federally-funded research program on obesity, diabetes, and lipid disease. He has expertise in treatment of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia. He is on the Scientific Advisory Board of both biotech and major pharma companies with a focus on obesity and diabetes drug discovery areas.
