Council Member Biography

J. Joseph Hewett, MD is the Medical Director of Vascular Access Centers of South Los Angeles, Vascular Access Center of Los Angeles, and Newport Cancer Care Diagnostic Imaging and Interventions. He is a managing partner in Pacific Interventional which operates outpatient vascular access centers and intervntional radiology clinics and staffs hospital Interventional Radiology Departments throughout Orange County and Southern Los Angeles. Dr. Hewett practices diagnostic radiology as well as interventional radiology including treatment of peripheral vascular disease, aortic aneurysm, uterine fibroid embolization, chemoembolization, varicose vein treatment, carotid stenting, vertebroplasty, treatement of deep venous thrombosis, and spinal injection procedures. He has experience in kyphoplasty, radioembolization of liver tumors, radiofrequency ablation of cancer, implementation of PET/CT, implementation of cardiac CT, and cardiac MRI.
