Council Member Biography

John Berg is the Chief Technology Officer of American Semiconductor, which designs and fabricates low power, high performance IC's for military and aerospace applications. Mr. Berg has subject matter and business acumen around the entire semiconductor supply chain, including design, products, EDA tools, IP, front end fabrication and capital equipment, back end test and assembly, and IC end-markets. At Cypress, John was the Managing Director of the Programmable Logic Business Unit, which competed with Altera and Xilinx, and was the foundation of the PSoC product line. Cypress acquired Sunpower while John was at Cypress; this allowed John to obtain knowledge of the solar market. Mr. Berg had worked at Zilog where he was responsible for design and technology for the company's 8-bit & 32 bit micro controller business, as well as technology for its DSP products. John has done due diligence in semiconductor M&A, and was an expert witness for semiconductor IP and business litigation. (This is me - Update Profile)
