Jeffrey Andrade

Jeff Andrade is an Executive Vice President for U.S. Education Finance Group, a student loan lender based in Florida. He is an expert on higher education matters and has also been an advocate for educational reforms from early childhood to lifelong learning for adults. Previously, Mr. Andrade was Director of Education Government Relations at Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville. Before that, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy, Planning, and Innovation in the Office of Postsecondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education. While at the Department, he managed a staff of nearly 70 professionals, and also served as the Director of the Department's Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education. Over the course of 14 years with the U.S. Department of Education, Mr. Andrade led several major regulatory initiatives and was the senior budget analyst responsible for the Department's largest appropriations account, Student Financial Assistance. He was a member the House Education and Workforce Committee staff working on the 1998 reauthorization of the Higher Education Act and drafted the landmark legislation creating the Federal government's first Performance-Based Organization, the Department's office of Federal Student Aid.
