Jeff Stier is an Associate Director at the American Council on Science and Health, a public health and consumer advocacy organization dedicated to promoting sound science in public health. In this position, he is responsible for government relations, policy, legal affairs and development. Mr. Stier specializes in food safety and nutrition (restaurant, agriculture, food and beverage industries), environmental health (chemical industry), pharmaceuticals and crisis communications regarding these industries. Additionally, he is an expert in class action litigation related to public health issues, regulatory and legal reform, tobacco policy and public health policy. Mr. Stier closely follows policies, legislations and regulations with the FDA, EPA, and USDA. He is often called upon to evaluate legal and regulatory matters related to specific health issues. Previously, Mr. Stier worked both in the office of the Mayor and in Corporation Counsel's office in the Giuliani administration in New York City. His responsibilities included planning environmental agency programs, legal analysis of proposed legislation, and health policy.
