Jed Gorlin, MD

Jed Gorlin, MD, MBA, is the Medical Director of the Memorial Blood Center of Minnesota and an Associate Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Gorlin is also the Transfusion Services Director at Hennepin County Medical Center. His research includes the hematopoietic progenitor collection, processing and cryopreservation of transfusion medicine including the pediatric and neonatal transfusion, pediatric aphaeresis, tissue sealants and adhesives, and transfusion transmitted disease testing- blood donor and patient. Dr. Gorlin's research also includes nucleic acid testing for human immunodeficiency virus, hepatitis C virus, hepatitis B virus, West Nile virus, and pathogen inactivation in blood and oxygen therapeutics. He has served as the Chairman of American Association of Blood Banks Standards Committee, an Editor of journal Transfusion and Transfusion Therapies in Medicine, and a member of American Society of Hematology Scientific Subcommitt (This is me - Update Profile)
