James Deutsch

James Deutsch is Managing Partner at Blitz Bardgett & Deutsch in Jefferson City, Missouri, where he practices in all aspects of government regulation of private interests including taxation law and policy, environmental litigation, public utility law, insurance regulation, election law and campaign finance, health care, and occupational and professional licensure and permits. Additionally, Mr. Deutsch emphasises legislative practice, gaming and wagering law,and policy. He combines 11 years of experience as a ranking state official in Missouri with over 25 years of law practice to counsel clients in multiple industries on proper handling of their regulatory obligations in Missouri and minimizing risks of adverse regulatory agency actions. He is a former General Counsel for the Missouri Department of Revenue (1981-1983), former Chief Commissioner of the Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission (1983-1989) and former Chief Deputy Attorney General for Missouri (1989-1993).
