James Baum has been the President of James E Baum & Associates, a consultancy focusing on the toy, mass market and specialty retail industries, since 1998 . Mr. Baum has more than 40 years of experience in the retail industry and is familiar with a wide range of toy related manufacturers, retailers and categories. Previously, Mr. Baum served as the President of Harmony Toy, a toy and games manufacturing company. He was also President of Matchbox Toys, the $80M company later acquired by Mattel, and President of Leisure Dynamics, a game and hobby company parts of which were acquired by Hasbro. Mr. Baum is a nationally recognized expert on the toy industry and has worked for or is familiar with every major manufacturer, retailer and licensor, including Mattel, Hasbro, Leapfrog, Jakks Pacific, Toys "R" Us, RC2, Megabrands, Wal-Mart, Target, The Warehouse Clubs, Build-a-Bear Stores, Marvel, Lucas, Disney, Nickelodeon,HIT, American Greetings, as well as the international toy business.
