James Rippy was a Senior Vice President at Continental Tires, North America a tier 1 automotive supplier where he worked from January 1974 to April 2000. Mr. Rippy was responsible for manufacturing, original equipment business P/L, quality, operations, and research development divisions in the US. He has over 40 years of experience in the Tire Industry, 27 of which were spent with General Tire and later with Continental General Tire. His responsibility included the United States and Mexico. He served as Chairman of the Board for a large joint venture with two Japanese partners for 10 years. He has expertise in all financial aspects plus R&D, tire development, quality assurance, logistics and transportation. He is familiar with automotive manufacturers like GM, Chrysler, Ford, and Toyota as well as all Continental brands such as Uniroyal and General. He has traveled the world extensively reviewing locations and processes throughout Europe, Japan, and the New Czech Republic. (This is me - Update Profile)

Why do they keep a guy who shares responsibility for the failure of GM?His "wonder skills" in design and marketing have not proven to be of any value. He should retire now and just go. His skills are way overrated based on results at GM and his previous car company employers.
