Hossein Ghofrani, MD

Hossein Ardeschir (Ardi) Ghofrani, MD, is Lead physician of the Pulmonary Hypertension Centre at the University of Giessen Lung Center (UGLC), Germany. Prof. Ghofrani is a Reviewer for various high impact scientific journals including Lancet, AJRCCM, Circulation, and Circulation research amongst others. He is member of the steering comittee of the excellence cluster cardiopulmonary research (ECCPS). Dr. Ghofrani is a Member of several scientific advisory boards for pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer, Actelion, Encysive, Ergonex, and Bayer-Schering AG. He has contributed to several publications on the topic of pulmonary hypertension. Prof. Ghofrani has been engaged in the development of new drugs for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension such as sildenafil, bosentan, sitaxentan, inh. iloprost and treprostinil, ambrisentan, and imatinib.
