Council Member Biography

Herbert Baraf, MD, FACP, FACR, is Managing Partner at Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, one of the country's largest private rheumatology practices in Maryland, since July 1978. Dr. Baraf is also the Medical Director of the Center for Rheumatology and Bone Research where he has been the principal investigator on more than 400 clinical research projects, since January 1983. He is Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland, since January 1998. Dr. Baraf is also Clinical Professor of Medicine at George Washington University Medical Center, since July 1979. He is active in the American College of Rheumatology and serves on the board of directors of Corrona, the Consortium of Research Rheumatologists of North America and lectures widely on therapeutics in the rheumatic diseases.
