Graeme Bethune, PhD, is the Chief Executive Officer of EnergyQuest, boutique energy advisory and research firm based in Australia. EnergyQuest provides strategic analysis of developments in Australasian oil and gas for many of the major energy companies operating in Australia, together with most governments. It also undertakes due diligence for companies contemplating oil and gas transactions, strategic research for major companies on emerging energy sources and advises governments on energy policy. Dr. Bethune has also undertaken major projects on coal seam gas, biofuels, shale oil and climate change strategy. He has over 11 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Dr. Bethune also has experience in financial markets and government policy. Prior, he was a General Manager at Santos, an Australia based oil and gas exploration and production company. ExxonMobil has agreed to sell 2.25 million tonnes a year of LNG from Australia's Chevron-operated Gorgon project to PetroChina in a 20 year deal. This is a further sign that Gorgon is likely to reach final investment approval this year.
