George Slusser is Principal at Slusser Consulting. Mr. Slusser consults on mergers and acquisitions, profitabiltity enhancement, and strategic planning in the commercial and residential brokerage industry. Prior to Slusser Consulting, he was President of Coldwell Banker Commercial Realty, and an SVP at Cendant Corporation (Realogy). During his tenure, he helped lead the company to record growth and three years of 20%+ annual increases. Mr. Slusser has participated in over 150 acquisitions for all of the brands of Cendant, GMAC Real Estate, Merrill Lynch Realty, and major independents. He was a major factor in the rapid growth of NRT, the company owned entity of Realogy. Slusser has also served as President of one of the largest real estate brokerage companies in the South. His industry best seller "Acquiring Profit" is the standard for M&A in real estate brokerage. He has an MBA from the University of Georgia, and an undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University. (This is me - Update Profile)

NAR is correct to classify the decline in Realtors as victims of the current housing down turn. What the article does not tell us - the decline will be beneficial for both the consumer and the remaining real estate agents.
