Council Member Biography

George Ellinger is the President of GEMS, a branded and private label manufacturer of classical toys and juvenile products primarily sourced from China. Mr. Ellinger works directly with ten Chinese Manufacturing companies, providing them with insight and decisions with regards to products, packaging, pricing, logistics, and merchandising issues. GEMS supplies toys and juvenile products through all ten of the largest US retailers, as well as the five largest Canadian retailers. Private label clients include Wal-Mart, Sears, Toys "R" Us, J.C. Penney, BJ's, Costco, Target, Kohl's, Kmart, and many others. Mr. Ellinger liases with the buyers from the above retailers on a daily basis, and maintains showrooms in the Toy Building in New York as well as in Hong Kong. Prior to GEMS, Mr. Ellinger served as the VP-Sales & Marketing for The First Years, a major juvenile products manufacturer.
