George Deitrick, MD, is the Director of Wound Healing Program at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center (Bronx Veterans Medical Research Foundation) in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Deitrick is a General Surgeon and Spinal Cord Injury Physician. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Deitrick has over 25 years of experience as a Clinical Surgeon in both community and academic medical centers. His clinical expertise and research interests are wound healing and wound care which is directed towards the improvement in healing outcomes, in pressure ulcers and other recalcitrant wounds as well as the study of changes in the peripheral vascular system following spinal cord injury. Dr. Deitrick has administrative interests in ambulatory care development, educational program initiatives, and performance improvement. He has served as the Vice President, Medical Affairs for a large, publicly traded wound management company and is included in Whose's Who in America and Whose's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
