Mr. Geoffrey Bobroff

Council Member Biography

Geoffrey Bobroff is President at Bobroff Consulting, a Rhode Island-based mutual fund consultant and advisory firm. Mr. Bobroff has over 35 years of experience in the asset management business. Bobroff Consulting advises clients that offer packaged financial products such as mutual funds, variable insurance products, closed-end funds and separately managed accounts. In addition to advising fund companies on strategy (product design, product line positioning and product pricing) and various distribution options, Mr. Bobroff also consults on various aspects of the different service providers to the asset management industry including transfer agent activities in the industry as well as third-party administrators. Following the expanded role of independent board members of mutual funds Mr Bobroff works closely with either board or the management presenting and/or analyzing information utilized by the board in fulfilling their fiduciary obligations.

Prior to establishing his consulting practice in October 1993, he served for more than five years as Senior Vice President of Lipper Analytical Services, Inc. For the previous five years, he was Executive Vice President of Integrated Resources, Inc., where he was responsible for money management and broker-dealer operations of the firm. From 1973-1983, Mr. Bobroff served as Executive Vice President of J. & W. Seligman & Co., where he had responsibility for the company's operations and financial affairs.
