Mr. Ernest Horvath

Council Member Biography

Ernest Horvath, PhD, is currently the Chief Executive Officer of E. Horvath & Associates, a reinsurance consultancy company. Dr. Horvath was previously the Vice Chairman - Head of Zurich Office at Flagstone Re. He was also the Managing Director of Converium, Bermuda Branch, which belongs to Converium, a Swiss Reinsurance company, one of the largest reinsurance companies in the world. Before 2002, Converium belonged to the Zurich Financial Services as Zurich Re. Starting at Swiss Re in 1967, Dr. Horvath has over 40 years of worldwide reinsurance underwriting and management experience, especially related to Europe. He has also been for over 25 years at the senior management level. Dr. Horvath has a Doctorate in economics, thesis related to reinsurance (University of Neuchatel, Switzerland, 1975).
