Council Member Biography

Eric Donnenfeld, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at New York University and Trustee at Dartmouth Medical School, since 1994. Dr. Donnenfeld is a Co-Chairman of Cornea at Nassau University Medical Center. He is also the Surgical Director of Lions Eye Bank for Long Island, the National Medical Director for TLC Laser Centers, and a Partner at Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island New York with 22 doctors and six offices. Dr. Donnenfeld founded Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut. He specializes in Lasik, cataract surgery, ocular infections and corneal transplantation. Dr. Donnenfeld has been a Principle Investigator of the excimer laser, cyclosporine for dry eye, several ophthalmic antibiotics and NSAIDs, and phacoemulsification devices for cataract surgery. He is also on the editorial board of seven ophthalmic publications and chairman of the cornea section for ASCRS. excimer laser, consults for Allergan Pharmaceuticals, AMO, VISX, Bausch & Lomb, Alcon, Insite, Inspire, Wavetec, TrueVison, and TLC Laser Centers.
