Donald Lemma was VP and CIO of Applied Biosystems (ending in April 2009 with the merger with Invitrogen formation of "Life Technologies", NASDAQ: LIFE), the world's leading manufacturer of laboratory instrumentation equipment used for genetic analysis, drug discovery, human identity testing, and biosecurity. He had global responsibility for the planning, acquisition, architecture, development, and operation of all computer, telecom, and ecommerce systems for all corporate and divisional offices and for establishing the strategy and standards in the use of information systems and related technologies throughout the company. Previously, he was the VP and CIO of Schering Plough Corporation; Managing Director and Divisional VP and CIO at Applied Materials; and CTO of the State of NJ. He is an expert in the field of ERP systems, IT strategy, security, organizational and systems optimization, IT shared services or outsourcing and portfolio planning or governance.
