Council Member Biography
Derek Loveday is a Senior Geologist at Norwest Corporation, a mining consulting company. Mr. Loveday has 14 years of experience in exploration and consulting for both surface and underground operations. He has experience working with coal, gold, diamonds, dimensions stone, base metals, and PGE’s throughout Africa. Derek has been consulting primarily in coal resource evaluation for the past five years in South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique and the United States. Prior to joining Norwest, he was a geologist consultant with Snowden Mining in South Africa. He has also been a geologist with Anglo Coal and Western Areas Gold Mine in South Africa. Derek received his B.Sc. in Geology from Rhodes University in 1993. (This is me - Update Profile)
