David Claman, MD, is Director of the UCSF Medical School Sleep Disorders Center. He has experience with all forms of sleep testing, including home sleep studies for sleep apnea, and actigraphy for insomnia. Dr. Claman completed a residency in Internal Medicine at UCSF, and a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UCSF. His formal training in Sleep Medicine was performed at Stanford University and at Sequoia Hospital (both in California), and he is Board Certified as a Sleep Medicine Specialist through the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Research interests during training included behavioral therapy for insomnia and diagnostic issues with sleep apnea. Current research interests include diagnostic approaches to upper airway resistance syndrome, non-invasive therapy for patients with alveolar hypoventilation, and clinical predictors of sleep apnea.
