He also serves as the CEO of GlobalWare Solutions a privately held digital and physical supply chain management company. Mr. Beatson has over 28 years of transportation, freight forwarding and 3PL industry experience. Previous positions include Chief Executive Officer of Emery Worldwide, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Circle International Group, Vice President at Cargo AMR, and Chief Executive Officer at Panalpina, North America. Mr. Beatson has extensive knowledge of domestic and international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, third party logistics, less than truckload, truck load, and contract logistics and warehousing companies. Mr. Beatson is a frequent speaker at transportation and supply chain industry conferences. He holds a BS in Business Administration from The Ohio State University and an MBA. Concurrently, American, Continental, Northwest and United will evaluate their strategic options and determine next steps.
Further consolidation will reduce competition while enhancing shareholder value, but create less options and therefore likely higher prices for travelers.
