David Armstrong, DPM, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Surgery and Director, SALSA at The University of Arizona College of Medicine, where he is working since June 2008. Dr. Armstrong also holds an MSc in Tissue Repair and Wound Healing from the University of Wales and a PhD from the University of Manchester, where he was appointed the Visiting Professor of Medicine. He has produced over 270 peer-reviewed research papers and over two dozen book chapters' edits of the American Diabetes Association's Clinical Care of the Diabetic Foot. Dr. Armstrong is the recipient of numerous international awards and was the 25th and youngest-ever member elected into the Podiatric Medicine Hall of Fame. He is Chair of Scientific Sessions for the ADA's Foot Council, and a past member of the National Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association. Dr. Armstrong sits on the Infectious Disease Society of America's Diabetic Foot Infection Advisory Committee. He is the founder and co-chair of DFCon.com, the world's largest annual international symposium on the subject. (This is me - Update Profile)
