Daniel Simon, MD, is Division Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine, Director of the Heart and Vascular Institute at the University Hospitals Case Medical Center, and Herman K. Hellerstein Professor of Cardiovascular Research at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College. Dr. Simon completed his CV medicine fellowship, is trained in interventional cardiology, and is a recipient of the prestigious MERIT Award from NHLBI. Dr. Simon’s main area of research interest is the role of inflammation in vascular injury. As Director of the Ohio Cell-based Therapy Consortium, he is committed to advancing stem cell and regenerative medicine efforts to treat advanced heart and vascular disease. Dr. Simon is an active interventional cardiologist and continues to play a leading role in clinical trials investigating new devices and anti-thrombotic drugs. (This is me - Update Profile)
