NFC (near field communication)! Why Banks run so fast in the wall ?

December 4, 2006

No specific articles targetted but so many pilots on going by using handset contactless possibility | www.3g.co.uk

The question is why so many companies launch NFC pilot when the architecture is not yet defined,  the protocol to be use inside the handset is known only since the last few days and I would say whatever the solution adopted the result will be too expensive for being widely deployed.

Alternative solution exists, technically better and much more less expensive(20€ versus 200€).  Why Banks and NFC customers have not yet considered this exciting alternative.

November 13, 2006

Axalto, Gemplus merger to create "global leader in digital security" Dec 7th, 2005 | www.secureidnews.com

As many analysts ask me this question, I believe it is a good opportunity to give an update on the Gemplus/Axalto merge…

I attended the last smartcard event in Paris last week (Cartes2006) where I met many people from Gemalto.
Here under is my feeling on :
- Where Gemplus and Axalto stand right now ?
- Who is taking advantage of their merge ? (share holders, customers or employees)

Let's share the situation...
