Charlie Whelan is Director of Frost & Sullivan's healthcare and lifesciences consulting practice, since 2001. He is focused primarily on the medical devices sector. Prior to joining the consulting team, Mr. Whelan managed Frost & Sullivan's North American medical devices subscription services group. He is regularly interviewed by media sources such as Forbes, Time, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and ABC World News Tonight. Mr. Whelan has specialized knowledge in the multi-billion dollar medical technology industry, with specific knowledge related to the orthopedics and surgical devices segments. He has analyzed the markets for minimally invasive surgery products, hearing instruments, dialysis equipment, spinal surgery, neurostimulation, and many others. Mr. Whelan has partnered with clients that are top companies in the medical devices field, such as Medtronic, Philips Medical and Johnson & Johnson, in order to provide them with strategic insight into the markets they serve.
