Bennett Ross is Partner and Chair of the Telephony Practice at Wiley Rein in Washington, DC. He has extensive experience handling telecommunications matters in the federal arena, before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Congress, as well as before state public service commissions. Specifically, Mr. Ross advises incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (LEC) and equipment manufacturers in connection with major FCC proceedings; represents incumbent LECs in interconnection negotiations and public utility commission arbitrations; and represents users of telecommunications services in business counseling and contract negotiations. Previously, Mr. Ross spent over a decade as General Counsel of BellSouth (Washington, DC and Georgia) and as Senior Attorney of BellSouth’s Regulatory and Governmental Affairs Section. Before joining BellSouth, he was Partner at Bass, Berry & Sims, where he specialized in commercial and administrative litigation. Mr. Ross received B.S., magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University and his J.D. from Vanderbilt where he was Order of the Coif. (This is me - Update Profile)
